Instructions

Tip Time: If you do not have time to attend to this task right at the moment, at least click on the link in Step 1 below and enter your name and primary interest. This is your page. You can return to it anytime to fill in more details.

Tip Search: Use Search in the upper right corner of this page to find people with similar interests – security brings you everybody who used that word in their descriptions of themselves – Enclave Data produces Dan Schutte's company description -- Salt Lake produces a list of companies from SLC who have followed these instructions -- exhibitor brings up. . . well, you get the idea. Think of SEARCH as our own private google search.

  1. Go to http://theitsummit.ning.com/forum/topic/new
  2. Discussion Title: Put in your name and an 8-10 word summary of yourself. For example, Les Squires -- CEO, Group Commons -- social networks
  3. Post: Describe your interest, your questions, your company, interests, your dreams. For example, I am on a quest to learn as much as I can about how social networks can benefit our companies, our families, our local organizations, our communities. I believe that collective, inclusive, and peer-to-peer thinking are far superior to exclusive, hierarchical, dictatorial thinking. I believe that the most important aspect of our lives is our ability to produce value and exchange values with others – you want my flower; I want your loaf of bread – we exchange.
  4. Tags: collective intelligence, social networking, sharing, peer-to-peer, technology, Web 2.0, groupcommons, internet, squires -- Tags are one-word summaries of "my content" -- my elevator pitch which only goes one floor!
  5. Attach Files: I don’t have any files to upload right at this moment, but as soon as I locate the file that describes my community building interests, I’ll return to this page and upload it. Let’s see. My resume. My business plan. A Brochure. Wow, I have lots of things I can attach to my record.
  6. Start Discussion: Clicking on this icon saves and publishes your descriptions. You are now a starting point for others to notice and respond to you and your company.
