Are you using Mac's for 'non-traditional' Mac tasks

As the IT media's love of all things Apple increases, have you started using Mac desktops or servers in your business yet ? Apple seem to be going down the same path Microsoft did originally, get users to want their stuff and allow the users to pressure 'corporate' into getting them their iPhone, iMac, ...

So, are have you bitten yet ? Their (as always premium priced) boxes are certainly engineered nicely ... and let's face it BSD is a perfectly good place to start for an OS.

Yep - using Mac's at MyST for all areas of the business including engineering, R&D, marketing, QA testing and support. All exec's and engineers carry iPhones, and we've even developed a few secure iPhone apps to control server restarts, deployment options, etc.

Both co-founders [were] staunch PC biggots until we applied critical thinking (i.e., rational analysis) and determined the relatively high acquisition cost of Apple products is actually less than the total cost of owning WinTel PC's. ;-)

Thanks for the reply Bill.
Have you found any software availability issues, for your purposes ? I'm guessing not as RIA's and web app's appears to be your focus.

The only wall we hot on software was lack of support for certain apps that accounting needs. Other than that - we're really a web services (Web 2.0) company that tends to find good SaaS solutions to purchase if we need them and most work well (if not better) on Macs.
